IJUP 2009, a poster

Design a poster for the event IJUP 2009, a meeting for young researchers of Universidade do Porto.
I built the image/type based on geometrical squared figures, as a "do-it-yourself" cube.
The idea that a young researchers event doesn't have to be something super serious.

Second experimental abc; the task was to research letters in shapes already existing.
My concept was doors. The painting or the shape suggesting a letter. It became a process of researching and attention, from going on the bus and search every street, to going out on the purpose of finding letters. There are a few that exist more than another, like X and Z, so finding the others was pretty exciting! Unfortunately i could not finish it at all, but i got hundreds of images.

To apply the letters i thought about music. Ironically i chose The Doors, making two possible covers for a cd.

Create an experimental abc.
I have a puzzle cube, made of wood, whose pieces have very peculiar shapes. They all incase, so the letters should keep their forms faithful to that idea. The final work shows something totally tubular and mechanic.
